Mandala Airlines original fleet comprised several Lockheed Electras and Vickers Viscounts, flying to a few cities in Indonesia.
A major change happened in 1992 when Mandala upgraded its fleet with Boeing 737-200 aircraft.
In 2001, Mandala added 2 Boeing 737-400, and by the end of 2005 the fleet included 12 Boeing 737-200 and 2 Boeing 737-400.
Mandala Airlines upgraded its fleet again in December 2006 with the addition of 4 technologically advanced Airbus A320 to replace several aging Boeing 737-200. With its larger seat capacity, more spacious cabin and a longer range, Airbus A320 provide more comfort for passengers.
